ABOUT US

What are we all about?

The Meadows Academy for Creative Kids is a small private school dedicated to providing a developmentally appropriate approach to kindergarten based on Iowa Core Standards that will successfully prepare your child for 1st grade.

The Meadows Academy for Creative Kids was designed to fill a need

in our community for a quality ½ day kindergarten program.  The

founder, Karen Lynch, is licensed in the state of Iowa as a teacher for

both early childhood and grades K-8.  She has 9 years of experience

teaching many grade levels and in many settings. Through experience

and research, Karen firmly believes that 5 year olds need a partial

day program geared toward developmentally appropriate

exploration, experimentation and play with academically based

materials. This program should be structured with class size that is

small enough for them to receive individualized instruction from a

qualified teacher.

The Meadows Academy for Creative Kids will provide a loving community where you can help your child grow both academically and socially.  Contact us to learn more about how The Meadows Academy can help your child have an excellent start to their school career.

What people are saying about us

"This program is NEEDED in our area, where many parents feel that sending their young kids away to school for 7 hours a day isn't a good fit, but whom don't feel up to homeschooling. There will be a 6 kid to 1 teacher ratio, a safe and homey space for learning, with lots of opportunities for outdoor learning and creative freedom. We have 110% confidence in her teaching, her vision, and this school and plan to send my son there in the fall. I urge you to check it out!!

Mrs Lynch was above and beyond what I ever could have asked for as a teacher. She is a bright, animated and passionate person with a great sense of humor, who puts in an incredible amount of effort and time to ensure that her classroom is a warm, welcoming space full of various creative and challenging areas for the children to explore and discover. She structures the children's day so that they experience learning as fun and invigorating and also have enough free time to play and interact with one another.  It is because of her influence that my son has developed a love of learning and exploring and has an open and curious mind.
